Nucleus: Fix Your Annotations

Fixing Ground Truth Annotations from Nucleus

There are 2 different ways you can edit your ground truth labels:

  1. Sending in numerous objects that need re-annotation
  2. Sending in just 1 image that needs to be re-annotated

Data types supported w/ this integration:

  • 2D Image Annotation
  • 3D LiDAR Annotation

Fixing Multiple Annotations

Here are the basic steps:

  1. In Nucleus, make sure in the Objects (not Images) view
  2. Select the objects that you would like to edit the ground truth for
  3. Click the drop down menu where it says "X selected" and click "Fix Annotations"

  1. The objects you've selected will be sent as a Batch into Studio. Choose which project you'd like to send these tasks to, and give your batch a name.
  • If you already have a project set up in Studio that you'd like to use for this set of data, you can select that project as the destination.
  • If you do NOT yet have a Studio project set up, you will first need to visit the Studio dashboard and create a project to house this data. More information about setting up a Studio project HERE.
  • NOTE: you'll have to upload a piece of data to get your project set up in Studio, but this can be dummy data as you will be ingesting directly from the Nucleus interface.

  1. Specify if you want to include the existing labels when you go in and re-annotate. Your tasks will automatically use the taxonomy that goes along with their original project.
  • If you choose to send in annotations as hypotheses, you can also limit the taxonomy you want your annotators to see. For example, even if your taxonomy had 10 label classes - if you want your annotators to just focus on fixing 1 class of labels, you can specify that only that 1 class of label will a selectable option.
  • Choosing to not send in annotations as hypotheses will mean labeling the task from scratch, whereas sending in annotations as hypotheses will allow you to edit already labeled annotations.
